A Little About Us

I say 'us' but it's really just my shop dog, Kodi, and me.

My name is Rick and I am a full time Firefighter/EMT.  In my off time, I run a 'Tree-to-Table' sawmill and woodshop.

Tree-to-Table woodworking means I have the ability to come to you, mill trees on-site into usable slabs or lumber, and then use those slabs/lumber to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind wood furniture

I am New England born and raised, and split my summers growing up between the deep, rustic, woods of Maine and the nautical beaches of Cape Cod....that's why I came up with the name Rustic Harbors....to pay tribute to both sides of my family, who helped shape me, teach me and support all my crazy ideas.

I've loved woodworking for as long as I can remember.  Whether it was building decks at my uncle's campground or admiring the wood and wicker chairs that my Grandfather used to make, I've always gravitated towards the warmth and beauty of natural wood.

Now, I am a full time Firefighter/EMT in the suburbs of Boston.  When COVID hit, my side job shut down and I was left with a lot of time on my hands, so I started making a few sets of custom made cornhole boards for family and friends.  Orders kept coming in, and I have run with it ever since.

One day, a tree came down on my property, and instead of chopping it all up into firewood, I bought an Alaskan Chainsaw Mill to cut it into usable live edge slabs.  I have had the woodworking and wood milling bug ever since
